We are a sustainable organisation that wants to create a better world for our children, and we’re a socially responsible organisation focused on giving back, which we do through our Real Estate for Good initiative.

Social responsibility

​

The goal of a real estate agent is to create mutually beneficial transactions in which both parties feel as though they got a good deal. It’s about matching a vendor/landlord with the right buyer/tenant and ensuring everyone’s needs are met.

​

But sometimes we in the real estate industry can get caught up in the fun and excitement of it all. We can lose sight of how important it is to simply have a home, a job and a stable income. We forget that there are many in Sydney who don’t have these things.

​

At Treak we not only want to keep this fact front of mind, we also want to be part of the solution. We work with a number of community organisations, including Wayside Chapel and Backpack Beds, to provide funding and support to less fortunate Sydneysiders. We donate every time we lease a property to Wayside Chapel’s Donate a Plate Drive, and provide a freshly cooked meal and ongoing support for those doing it tough. For every purchase, we donate one warm, fire-retardant sleeping bag to the homeless through our partnership with Backpack Beds.

We also believe that actions speak louder than words, so every year we commit to walking 28km to raise money for Wayside Chapel.

Sustainability

At Treak we believe that social responsibility extends to doing all that we can to create the best possible future for our children, which we do through a number of sustainability initiatives designed to minimise our environmental impact.

​

We are a paper-free office that uses technology to dramatically reduce our reliance on A4. On the rare occasion that something needs to be printed, we ensure it is on 100% post-consumer recycled paper with non-toxic ink. If a customer chooses to use brochures to get the word out about their property, we partner with the Plant a Tree for Me! initiative to ensure that paper is replaced.

Treak Real Estate's virtual office is found in 'The Commons' in Chippendale – a co-working, creative and design space that is B Corp Certified, meeting the highest standards of social and environmental performance to create a more sustainable and inclusive economy. The Commons uses solar and wind energy to help offset carbon emissions, along with a wealth of other sustainability initiatives.

We chose Bendigo Bank for banking and insurance as their ethos aligns with ours – they don’t invest in fossil fuels, for example.

​
